Punch Card Curtains

In general, rapid shifts in data storage technology tend to give me cold chills. It scares me a bit to think that these punch cards used to mean something tangible to an (albeit limited) group of computer programming personnel. That said, I'm already freaking out about the shift from DVD to BluRay -- though it's hard not to think of Bluray as something other than an instantly obsolete stopover like the laserdisc.
Still, I wish I had the time/punch cards to do something like this. They remind me of the Tyrell Corporation interiors in Blade Runner in that they have that same hieroglyphic/futuristic feeling. Evidently, cool things are often cool because they chisel away at your humanity somehow. (via BoingBoing)
