A Quick Example of How I Think Marketing is Degrading Language

When you think of an encore in musical performance, it's usually an extra song, not a repeat of the prior songs performed.

So, why the heck do we call a repeat airing of an Even Stevens episode an "encore" presentation?

And why do dictionaries support this relatively new meaning of the word?

I imagine we all have an idea why. This is just a rhetorical question. Thanks for reading.
